I used 1st Choice Plumbing to repair our plumbing issues. 1st Choice Plumbing was extremely detail oriented and professional. I highly recommend 1st Choice Plumbing for all of your plumbing needs. They do excellent work and provides excellent service.

I found this company through Yelp and I was very pleased. I needed to get a second opinion estimate for a client prior to closing on a home. Linneer was on time, he educated me and he's just an all around genuinely nice guy. I appreciated his candor and his honest and upfront pricing.

He's added to my go-to list of vendors.

I would give more stars for 1st Choice Plumbing if it lets me. Our sump pump was broken and our basement started getting water overflow and the carpet was wet. I was suggested to get the sump pump fixed. The adjuster told me the average price for a sump pump replacement is about $180. I called several places to get an appointment ASAP. The first one I called was Ehrhardt Brothers Plumbing, they quoted me $160 for diagnosis and estimate $1800 for sump pump replacement. The second place I called is Cross County Plumbing, no one answered so I left a voice mail. I HAD TO call him back a few hours later asking if he had got my message. Cross County Plumbing replied that they DID get my message but they don't think my sump pump needs replaced since it hasn't been working for 3 years ("If it has not been working then you don't need it", they said). I insisted that it needed fixed due to the water backup/overflow. They RELUCTANTLY gave me an appt for diagnosis ($125) and estimated $800-$1000 for replacement. I then looked around more and got in touch with 1st Choice Plumbing. AND THANK GOD, He replied right away, asking me to take pictures of the sump pump, gave me a quote of $350 for replacement (NO DIAGNOSIS FEES :) ). I could not believe my ears at first. Now I know the other two places was bs with their prices. 1st Choice Plumbing (Mr. Linneer) showed up at my place 20 minutes earlier than the appt time (he was VERY responsive along the way) and he got down to business right away. There was more extra work beside the replacement due to the pump was filled with backup water and debris, rocks, etc. He removed everything, clean, and install a new sump pump. everything was done in 45 minutes or less. He kept his promise and charged me only $350 despite all the extra dirty work. I appreciate him so so much and want to spread the word. WE NEED THIS BUSINESS AROUND.

Mr. Laneer is very professional, very knowledgeable about his craft and gave me expert advise about future plumbing and heating repairs to my home. He went the extra mile to replacing my sump pump with more work then anticipated and still did not charge me for the extra work. Linneer is a great guy, honest to a fault, and my experience with 1st Choice Plumbing is a case study of why to use a plumber [a good, honest one] over a handyman. He's a good guy, communicates via phone or text and is reliable.

We had a dripping faucet/showerhead and I got some quotes from two different handyman services very highly rated in DC, as we wanted to save some money. Both were going to come in and completely replace the shower-tub combo, with new fittings, valves, the whole 9 yards for a few hundred bucks, not including parts. This is how handyman services work - they come out to fix a problem and since they're generalists, they really don't have the ability or knowledge to look at how to fix the problem with the minimum resources.

Linneer came out, charged a nominal fee for taking things apart and figuring out the solution. He had me take a photo of the backplate and gave me a phone number and url to contact the manufacturer as he was sure they had a lifetime warranty. Sure enough, I filled out an online form, attached some photos and within 10 days, the manufacturer sent along the free replacement valve and other parts, for free!

Linneer just finished the job, everything works great and our final cost was about 1/4th of the handyman quotes. If you need a drain snaked, or replacing your garbage disposal, sure call a handyman, if you have something more complex, call 1st Choice Plumbing to do it right and often for much less money.

My husband and I had a great experience working with Lineer. We just moved into a house and needed a number of things fixed. Lineer walked us through what each job would take and gave us honest quotes. When he arrived, he was efficient and did high quality work, and the final cost was what we expected. This company is amazing. Our rental home in DC had several broken and leaking pipes and the tenant wanted servicing immediately. Honesty is business is hard to find. Although I didn't have the pleasure to use the service, the owner was honest about the scope of work and referred me to another company that would be more equipped to handle the magnitude of the job I was proposing. Let me just start by saying as a homeowner, one of the things I dread is home repairs. I had a tub that had been leaking for months. We have used Linneer at 1st choice plumbing on two different occasions. Both times the seevice has been excellent. Quick, professional, and affordable. I couldn't ask for anything more from a plumber. We had a problem with the water pressure coming out of our kitchen faucet. The owner returned my message from vacation and scheduled an appointment for the following week. The morning of the appointment he called to confirm and showed up exactly on time. The problem turned out to be a valve under the sink which he diagnosed and fixed in less than five minutes for a very, very reasonable price. He also referred me to a sprinkler company for a different issue, because the sprinkler folks would probably be able to do that job cheaper than he could. Sooooo I never write reviews, but after the exceptional service I received from Linneer today, I had to do so! My water heater was acting up and I didn't have hot water in my house.The plumber I previously called flaked on me so I had to find someone quickly. This was the first company that popped up on yelp when I searched for "water heater repair" so I called him up. Told him my problem and he said he could come out on Friday. I just started a new job and had to take off today to get this done so taking off again wasn't going to work. I told him that I'm only free today and he said ok he'll be right over. Thirty minutes later he was at my house and 2 hours later he was walking out my door having completed the job! His price was fair, he was extremely nice and very transparent on what needed to be done. What else could you ask for! I have a new toilet that needs to be installed so I'll definitely call him for that. I think I just found my go-to plumber!

Ok.. I've never really had much luck with plumbers. I don't know why but it has always been really difficult to find an honest professional. Well, thanks to Yelp problem solved. My wife and I are currently renting a home and needed a plumber bad. We called around a few places and Manier from 1st Choice was incredible. We had a clogged toilet on our first floor and something did not seem right. He quickly diagnosed the issue and said the toilet was barely making a tight connection. Before he arrived I tried to use a plunger and could hear a shush sound at the base of the toilet. The price he gave seemed extremely fare to my wife and I. Unfortunately our landlord did not approve his proposal but I knew it was fare. What really stuck out about this company was how professional and the genuine feeling we felt that Manier really wanted to help. I highly recommend this company. Called out Choice, to see what could be done on my nasty clawfoot tub. They recommended a company in Bowie to have it refinished vs replacing would be extremely costly. I hired them to disconnect the tub, so I could take it out for a complete make over. I'll have them back to hook up the tub once completed. Appreciated the honest work and their recommendation.

He had a hot water tank that seems to look and be quite nice with a good warranty - which he brought to us, so it made things very simple. Our hot water heater was a project, to say the least, but Lanier handled every detail beautifully and explained everything to us along the way.

He is extremely kind, professional, smart and knowledgeable. You could not ask for more. I'm very happy to have discovered him thanks to Yelp reviews. He will be our go-to plumber going forward for all our plumbing needs.

1st Choice Plumbing is amazing! Linneer came as scheduled. Upon his arrival I showed him our old bath tub which was not draining well. I told him that we have an old house built in the early 30's and my concern was the possible damage in the pipes if he will need "to snake it" to clear the clog. He first used a small one but towards the end, he had to use a strong snake to clear up the bad clog. He was very careful though in doing the work. He successfully completed the task. The tub is running well, including the sink. He said both are inter-connected that is why.

Linneer was knowledgeable and very professional, someone you can easily talk with. There are other plumbing problems that has to be addressed and he was kind enough to discuss and explain to me in layman's terms what has to be done. He actually checked each one of the problem areas, patiently addressing every concern I have.

Needed a plumber and found them through Yelp...so many great reviews could not be wrong...and they weren't! On time, professional, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable. A+ all around. Will use them for every future plumbing need! It was a pleasure working with you, Mr. Mabry

I have never written a Yelp review but felt that this occasion warranted one. After 10 days of low water pressure, a constantly running (noisy) sump pump, and THREE specialists coming out, I still had not received a definitive diagnosis. When my plumber flaked multiple times (kept delaying the day to come replace pipes costing me $500 in water bills throughout the delay) I finally called Linneer. It took him about 10 minutes to figure out the problem (not an issue with the pipes--a leaky sump pump drawing on the main water supply). He literally turned a valve and restored everything to normal! Not sure how the other three people missed that part. Turns out that both our electric sump pump and water back up sump pump were faulty so he replaced the main sump pump for us. He never pushed us to do any additional work although we still need to replace a few things eventually. He has a great sense of humor and personality. I also felt that he gave us a fair price. With 25 years of plumbing experience, I will definitely call him again the next time we need plumbing help!

Excellent customer service, and the quality of work was above and beyond what I expected. The job was to replace a kitchen faucet, but ended up including a lot more work, all of which was reasonably priced and done excellently. The only downside is that this company does not handle emergency plumbing issues.

A good plumber is so hard to find! Why is that??? Well, it's basically because they know they have you by the nads and have a skill set you don't. And it's this type of arrogance that gives the plumbing industry a bad rep. Knowing or unknowingly, 1st Choice is trying to change this perception.

I had some plumbing issues that needed to be resolved so I figured might as well tackle it while the weather's still decent. I contacted them after seeing the van driving by. It may seem silly but the main reason I called was because I liked the way the truck looked. The image a small business projects is important because it sets the tone of how the owner/operator carries themselves. One star for business appearance.

Mr. Mabry came out when promised and even made a courtesy confirmation phone call beforehand One more star for promptness. He also showed up looking very clean and professional. Another star for appearance. He definitely knows how to add the "special touch" to the service he provides and demonstrates that he knows what he's doing. This is a nice rarity in the plumbing business.

Throughout the process he explained what he was doing and did a final walk-through to ensure everything was completed as promised. Fourth star!

Overall, the final cost ($700) wasn't awesome when you break it down because the amount of time spent on the job compared to cost of materials resulted in an hourly rate of three figures. But the man's gotta eat so I can't be mad at that. Plus, the industry standard for plumbers is to get you on labor, not really the parts.

In the end, you get what you pay for. If you want someone who works quickly and precisely, will treat your home with respect, come in with a fair price, explain their process and do the work they promise, then it really doesn't get better than this guy.

I called 1st Choice Plumbing based on all of the favorable reviews I read on this site. He came out the next day and addressed all of my needs including a leaky faucet I asked him about while he was there to fix the other items. Linneer is extremely attentive and professional! His prices are very reasonable. I have used some of the big name plumbers who constantly advertise and they did not do as good of a job as Linneer did. He has become my plumber of choice and I highly recommend him!!!

I have used 1st Choice Plumbing for three plumbing needs in the past year.  Exceptional service was given each time with reasonable prices.   I've been 100% satisfied with the way the work looked once the job was finished and how parts/materials provided have performed overtime.

Reliable, responsible and knowledgeable.  It's really a relief to know a plumber of this caliber can work on my properties.

Lineer was great. He came to fix our spout to our tub which needed to be replaced because the old one allowed water to leak steadily from the shower-head while it was also coming out of the spout. When he removed it he found that it had been shoddily installed and the pipe was flimsy plastic instead of copper, so it would be hard to fix well without replacing the pipe, which we couldn't afford at this time. He did his best, but a week later it was loose, so he came back out for free and fixed it again, this time adding a lot of caulk to get it to stay-put while we save the money to get the pipe replaced. While he was here for that second visit, he noticed that the sink in the bathroom didn't drain well, and he made an adjustment to the stopper which didn't lift high enough before, causing slow drainage. He made that fix without us asking, and it works great now. The spout is also working well, he hasn't needed to return, and we hope to save the money within several months to have the pipe totally replaced. We trust him to do the work. We were hearing water running. After checking Yelp and seeing other reviews, I decided to call 1st Choice Plumbing. Due to the holidays, I called back the 5th. The call was answered in person by Linneer.  When the appointment time came, he called half an hour ahead and arrived right on time.  This was January 7th and the weather was not good.

Linneer recognized the running water as having to do with our reverse osmosis filtered water system (he was accurate). He checked a toilet that had been running (I had to shut it off) and explained that a new toilet was needed due to its antiquity. It used too much water, wasn't holding water in the tank and trying to fix it would not be efficient. Since two plumbers before him had tried, I believed him.

The next morning he arrived right on time.  The toilet was replaced, he took his time explaining that older houses (older pipes) needed care. He worked effectively with an uneven floor and an old toilet set up (the opening into the sewer drain) that was originally installed without centering it.

The new toilet works beautifully.

I'll be calling him for the other two toilets. Linneer said to get one thing done at a time and be gentle with the house.

The owner, Lineer, does his job in such a professional manner that it is almost a pleasure to deal with the plumbing issues. I feel confident that I'm not getting ripped off and that I'm dealing with someone who wants to help you get back to your life. He's not trying to make the job bigger than it already is. He is honest and takes his job seriously. He is my go-to-guy for plumbing needs, especially this last time when I was getting my inspection to-do list completed for my house's picky buyers.

I have nothing but great things to say about this company. Being a new home owner in an unfamiliar area I can't emphasize how hard it is to build a network of trusted services for all the random things you need to get done around the house.

We called Linneer based on reviews here and were not disappointed. We used him in August for a sewage line blockage that ended up having the involve the county. Linneer was extremely helpful, accurate and honest about pricing and what actually needed to be done. He walked us through anything he was going to do, gave us pointers on how to fix other unrelated plumbing issues instead of trying to sell us something, and his advice to get the county involved ultimately saved us $550.

I had a minor plumbing leak. Other companies wanted to charge me an outlandish amount of money just to come out and tell me how much they would charge me to fix it. Linneer came out the following day and fixed my minor leak for less than what the other companies wanted to charge me just to come give me a price quote. I left a voice mail on a Sunday evening for service Monday.  Mr. Mabry, Sr. called at 8AM on Monday and said he could come and take a look at our issue at 9:30AM.  He also gave a courtesy call 30 mins prior to arriving.  He spotted the leak right away and gave me two options.  The first option was cheaper and he even came up with an ad-hoc pole to see if it would work, but unfortunately it did not and we had to go with option 2 - removing our bathroom tiles and drywall. He took his time removing 2 of the 3 tiles, trying to salvage them for reuse later.  After the tiles were removed he resolved the leak by replacing the spit copper pipe with a pvc one. His price was very reasonable for the amount of time and care he took to fix the leakage.

Mr. Mabry, Sr. was very professional and courteous throughout the repair job.  His expertise and knowledge on plumbing was amazing.  I would highly recommend him to other Yelp folks.  I will be using him for future plumbing issues.

I was in need of a plumber due to the fact that I noticed a wet/soft spot was developing on my ceiling in my kitchen which is located right under the bathroom in the master bedroom.  I googled plumbers and came across 1st Choice Plumbing on Yelp.  They had 19 reviews and everyone gave 5 stars, I knew this was the company for me.  I called Linneer on Monday told him my problem, he explained a couple of situations that could be causing the leak. I scheduled an appointment for him to come out on Wednesday.  The fee for him to come out was only $25.  He arrived on time (actually early) and was ready to work.  He evaluated the situation and was able to see what was causing the leak.  He did have to cut the ceiling to repair the pipe.  He was very neat and tidy.  He covered the kitchen counters and floor with drop cloths for cleaning up will be simple.......5 STARS IS NOT ENOUGH for the great customer service, work and pricing that Linneer offers.

I checked Yelp for a plumbing company and decided on 1st Choice Plumbing based on their reviews. While I was able to have a friend unclog the toilet, I will call Linneer if I have any other plumbing problem.
I called past 10 pm, left a message, and the next morning at 8:15-ish, I received a call from Linneer. I told him I managed to fix it and he was very courteous, saying he was happy I managed to save some money.  Though I can't directly address his actual work, his ethic and courteousness speak volumes, particularly when paired with all the other reviews of Linneer's excellent work.

I had a problem with 2 toilets in my house not flushing properly.  I searched for a plumber in Yelp.  After seeing all great reviews for Linneer, I decided to call him.  I called him on Veteran's day, which I  did not know whether I would be charged more or even receive service.  Linneer told me he was honoring that day and is usually off.  Additionally, his truck was in the shop.  He told me he would call me back if he got his truck that day.  He actually called me a couple of hours later to inform me that he got his truck back and he was coming over.  (even on his day off).  When he came, my toilets ended up working.  He gave me some tips about the plumbing in the house and did not charge me at all.  I really appreciated his honest dealings and will definitely use him again!

Most times when I call a contractor, plumber or electrician they want to charge about $100 just to show up and diagnose a problem.  I called Linneer after reading his Yelp reviews and he said $25.  So far so good.  Then he says, if you need any work done I'll put that $25 toward the work.  Nice!  He showed up, we looked at the dishwasher first because hat was my main concern.  But then since he was here I asked can we check out the slow sinks in the two bathrooms, the showers and tubs, the hot water heater, etc...  He checked everything out, stopped a very minor leak on the hot water heater, made some adjustments, when all was said and done he said I just needed some new supply lines under the sink.  He said it's simple, you could probably do it yourself.  I said come on man you showed up here, gave me all your knowledge for free, fixed a few things, i want you to at least make a tank of gas of of me.  He charged me $50 and the $25 for the initial visit was credited toward that.  I wish I could clone him and send the clones to school for other home services because it is rare to find someone so nice, honest, accessible, friendly, etc..   I hope he reads these so he knows how thankful i am even though i also told him in person.

The Yelp reviews were a big decision in me choosing 1st Choice.  I am so glad that I did.  Mr. Mabry restored my water after it had been off for 13 days.  (That's a long story about frozen pipes and a missed diagnosis from WSSC.)  He is very, very professional and highly skilled.  Please look no further for a plumber, the company name says it all.  This should be your 1st Choice.

Called Linneer at about 8 on a Friday to unclog the kitchen drain line.  Very polite and friendly on the phone.  He said he had a couple people in front of me but that he would almost definitely be able to get out to my place that afternoon.  Sure enough he called me at around 2pm to say he was on his way.  Showed up, took care of the clog, talked about steps I could take to help prevent future clogs and make clogs easier to reach if it happened again.  Super-nice guy.  Good work and cleaned up too.  Fair price for the work and had the kitchen sink back in operation for the weekend!

Linneer is THE BEST.   After having been through three previous plumbers to try to handle our myriad of issues, I was beyond discouraged.  Talking to Linneer for 10 minutes on the phone in advance of our appointment-- and I was already feeling better about our situation. Linneer communicated with me throughout the process, was open and honest about what scenarios could play out, and walked me through exactly what the issues were when he located them.  He was beyond professional and a delight to work with. I found Linneer  through yelp--and I trust all of my fellow yelpers so I had to give him a call!  Our kitchen sink has been slowed to drain since our yearly massive halloween party.  We tried an electrical snake 1 week into the blockage and it just made it worst... we had to succumb to the plumbing gods and get professional help on it.  I called Linneer 9 am on Saturday, and I received a return call about 1 hr later.  He said he was booked for the entire day and doesn't work on Sundays--Shucks.. cuz at this point, there was no more drainage--- i was dumping buckets out of the sink!  Linneer could sense my pain through the phone I believe, so he said he'll come on Sunday at 7 am, and give us a ring before hand.  He does free estimates, but since it was a Sunday run, he'll charge $200 for a cleaning fee.  Also, if he couldn't fix it, he wouldn't charge.. and the cherry on top, 30 days guarantee for the work! Sounds like a win-win for me, we had a dinner party (yes, sans plumbing), and lets say we were in no condition to greet Linneer at 7 am! Instead of making us feel awkward, he just says "looks like you guys had fun last night"--staring at all the dozens of bottles scattered around the kitchen counter.  At that point, we knew he was our man!  He fixed our sink, and changed all the necessary parts.  1.5 hr later, we have plumbing again!  I would highly suggest him for all your plumbing needs-- you can't complain with free estimates and a Sunday call, and.. no judgements :-).

The reviews are definitely true. Had a leak in our main floor that was coming from the upstairs bathroom. Leneer was able to quickly diagnose the problem and provided me with education about our plumbing system. As a added bonus, he was able to fix the low pressure shower downstairs. Home repairs suck.  Unexpected home repairs suck even more. You know what doesn't suck? 1st Choice Plumbing!  Linneer Mabry diagnosed the problem and fixed it within 24 hours and it would have been sooner if we didn't make him wait.  His professionalism and attention to detail was great and his cost was definitely reasonable! He even checked our toilets and re-secured them (we recently put in tiling so they were a bit off level).

I don't know much about these things.  I didn't become a homeowner until I recently got married and moved into my husband's home. Spending money on things that I can't wear, eat, drive, fly on, or decorate with just seems wrong.  After all, those are the FUN things in life.  However, being a homeowner means you have to take care of the not-so fun things too, I am learning.  In that case, I am glad that I have Linneer and 1st Choice Plumbing - fair, affordable, and make the unexpected a little bit more bearable.

We had a drain issue in our home that turned out to be a blocked sewer line between floors. After spending too much time trying to fix the problem ourselves (lesson 1: pouring bleach down all your blocked drains just makes you and your house smell like bleach, lesson 2: do not attempt to remove a toilet unless you know what you are doing) and making it worse - water started coming through out living room ceiling! - I did a quick Yelp search and called the only plumber that had good ratings and was still open at around 8 p.m. on a Sunday night. Note: we had a similar issue only a few months ago and Roto Rooter had fixed it that time - since it was the same problem we were suspicious and not looking forward to spending that kind of money again..
Linneer was on time (early actually), very polite, very thorough - he ended up having to snake about 60 feet through our house - and fixed our problem in a few hours. He was very communicative about the issues and even gave us some advice to ensure we didn't have the same problem again (something Roto Rooter definitely didn't do). He had to remove two toilets and it took many hours, but by the time he left, everything was neat and clean and tidy - also something we didn't experience with Roto Rooter, who banged up our walls.  The most important thing is, he fixed our plumbing!  It wasn't cheap - but that is because our problem wasn't cheap, Not because he was particularly expensive. I believe we got a very good value for money and I will be definitely be calling Linneer in the future if we ever have any more issues.

We were at our wits end after a plumbing problem that we thought had been fixed began leaking. We contacted  Linneer after reading his reviews on Yelp and I'm so glad we did. He made an appointment to come look at our problem the day after we contacted him. 1st Choice Plumbing is hands down the best plumbing service I have encountered. Washington gas informed me that I had a gas leak, and Linneer promptly diagnose the issue and found the actual problem was a gas build up from the regulator valve and not from a faulty pipe that wash gas had indicated. He clearly explained the issue,  and I must say impressed with his patience because I must have asked him a thousand questions.

I was in a serious pickle when I found out I had an issue with my main sewer line at home. Having come from owning condos most of my life, and now being in a house with plumbing drama, I felt lost in the world of plumbing I had a plumber come in, via Home Warranty Service, and diagnose the job, but then he pawned me onto another plumber.
